Professional Work Samples

The first of my professional work samples came from my internship at Studstill Media. I was given three fifteen second scripts to advertise for the companies that would be at the job fair Studstill Media was hosting. I recorded and edited all of them myself in Adobe Audition. I chose and inserted the  upbeat bed music, normalized, made sure the timing was exactly fifteen seconds, and made sure to enunciate and speak enthusiastically. All of those are factors important in making commercials that will air to intrigued the audience, making sure the companies get what they asked for, and the audience can clearly understand and enjoy the content.

The second sample I have is the my part of a preview of a new music show, “The Backstage Pass”. Some executives of WPFS and myself created this show to feature interviews and music from undiscovered artists. We chose to kick off the show on National College Radio Day so we used a preview which featured sections of our first interviews and the music from the artists. My interview is the first one. We used Adobe Audition and a phone tap to record the interviews and also used Audition to edit the music into the interviews. In my interview I asked open ended questions to allow for the interviewee to give lengthy answers so it was not choppy and provided a lot of information. I also joked around with him and was enthusiastic because the interview was meant to be laid back. I also wrote and edited in Audition the promo at the beginning.

The final work sample I have is one of the packages I did for the college television station MCTV. I shot a protest students put together against a campus organization “All of Us Together” (starting at 3:35). It was challenging because I was unable to shoot the meeting due to school policy, so I chose to shoot multiple interviews and different parts of campus. I edited using Adobe Premiere. I wrote the script, used Adobe Audition to record my voice over, my shots were framed well, and I had a variety of shots of the campus.
